Wine Dark Short Film Festival 2025
Our second edition of the festival took place in ActOne Cinema in Acton on the 15th of November 2025. We screened 21 films from across globe representing more talent and exciting shorts! We also stepped up our game by growing our team and bringing more from our communities to the festival!
We were delighted to talk with producer-writer Bonnie McBird. She has a long history working in the entertainment industry and shares a keen interest in neurodiverse characters ( Sherlock Holmes!), sharing her own experiences and her workflow
Later in the festival, we also had a wonderful conversation with Sarah Leigh, a neurodivergent award-winning filmmaker. She is the founder of Inclusivity Films - a company committed to at least 50% of the cast and crew identifying as d/deaf, disabled, and/or neurodiverse, and is a co-founder of Inclusive Talent, a talent agency for underrepresented actors. We discussed her experiences of the industry and her insight to how we can better support those taking on the entertainment industry.
For our prizes, we were so fortunate to have very special sponsors: Ivan Weiss (photographer), writerduet, Dans le Noir, City Academy, Escape Plan, and Deliza!
We proudly collaborated with C Potential: a specialist charity that provided integrated therapy and support for children and young people with movement disorders.
